Growing up as the only girl in a house with four boys gave Ashlye her competitive edge as she tried to keep up with her brothers. From a very young age, her athleticism proved to be an undeniable gift. Her athletic accomplishments throughout high school earned her numerous college scholarships for both basketball and volleyball. She went on to play Division-1 volleyball at Mississippi State University, where she still holds school records in several categories and was named to the All-SEC Volleyball team. Ashlye moved out West to finish her degree at the University of Wyoming. She then moved back to Mobile where she also utilized her athletic experiences as a teaching tool by coaching high school volleyball Elite Club Junior teams.
After college, Ashlye decided to challenge herself in a different way by moving to Florida to work in an aquarium in dolphin therapy programs for children with physical and mental challenges. She was fortunate enough to spend two years training and performing in shows with dolphins.
More recently, Ashlye has worked in several marketing positions, one of which landed her Salesperson of the year for a large Resort & Spa chain. Although she pursued a more traditional career path in recent years, Ashlye has always retained an unbridled spirit leading her to try and experience new adventures including stand-up paddle boarding, kite-boarding and surfing. She continues to enjoy training and competing with her husband in triathlons, adventure races, mountain biking and road cycling. They love spending weekends taking their toddler to Saturday morning community runs. She hopes to instill in him the same love for competing and desire to be fit early in life that she discovered at a young age.
When her sister-in-law Danielle brought Pure Barre to Alabama, Ashlye was immediately interested in the workout that claimed to reap results in just 10 classes. She found it invigorating and unique from her other workouts and loved the athletic and lean approach Pure Barre creates in an exercise class.
Ashlye saw this as a perfect opportunity to merge her fitness and marketing backgrounds with her love for teaching into a self-owned business. She is ecstatic to introduce Mobile to the Pure Barre Technique and knows that it will revolutionize the way people view exercise, because it definitely changed her perspective.
