Makensie McCormick

Born in raised in San Angelo, Makensie completed high school at Central High School and her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing at Angelo State University. She worked as a pediatric registered nurse before she began teaching nursing at ASU, where she has been teaching full-time for the past 10 years. Makensie and her husband, Zach, have two precious girls, Collins and Evyn. A former gymnast, Makensie struggled to find workouts that she truly enjoyed, especially after having kids, until she began taking pure barre class upon the Pure Barre San Angelo location opening in 2021. Her love for this unique workout experience and the huge sense of community within the studio grew quickly, and she soon became an instructor not long after becoming a member. Her goal is to help others find fulfillment, confidence, and a welcoming place to call home within their personal workout journeys at Pure Barre.
