Madalyn S.

Howdy, I am Madalyn Stapp and I am a Kinesiology major at Texas A&M University and plan to attend Physical Therapy school in the future. A College Station local, I first experienced Pure Barre College Station in high school and loved what the classes offered both physically and mentally. I started working the front desk as a BarreTender, and became addicted to taking classes where I was constantly challenged by instructors and clients. I danced for 16 years of my life and found so much joy and mental well-being through that amazing sport. I truly allowed myself to let go each time I was dancing. Growing up as a dancer I was surrounded by movement, fitness, and health and I fell in love with how Pure Barre blended fitness with the elements of dance I love. During my junior year of high school, I suffered a season-ending injury tearing my ACL and a few other ligaments in my knee. Although I was out for the season, I was determined to get back dancing full strength. Along with physical therapy, Pure Barre helped me strengthen my leg even more after surgery and aided my recovery process. That is when I realized just how special the Pure Barre technique is. My fire for taking classes continued to burn throughout my Senior year as Pure Barre challenged my body to reach its strongest point. The summer after my senior year, as I was preparing for collegiate dance tryouts, I tore my other ACL and had to have yet another reconstruction surgery causing me to pause on my dance career. I pushed myself hard in physical therapy and found myself back at Pure Barre continuing to strengthen my body. At this point in my life missing dance has been challenging to me mentally, but at Pure Barre College Station I have found a place where I am able to focus on bettering myself for an hour each day and have a mental break from the stresses of life. I became interested in teaching Pure Barre to help give back to a place that has truly given me so much. Let's get stronger together!
