Lauren S.
I started taking Pure Barre as a client in 2013, after an incredibly dangerous and scary twin pregnancy. I was in search of something to help rebuild my very broken body-specifically my core. The classes were tough, but I loved the challenge, the mental "sanity hour" it provided my very sleep-deprived self, and the incredibly supportive community of teachers and clients. Class by class, tuck-by-tuck, I put myself back together, and literally rebuilt my core to be stronger than before my twins were born! I am a former competitive gymnast, and professional actor, and have been a licensed massage therapist for 20 years. Teaching Pure Barre feels like a beautiful blend of so many pieces of me; from the musicality to the movement, to my love of anatomy and body awareness, it brings me so much joy to not only (hopefully) be a positive part of somebody's day, but to help them see, recognize and build their own strength. I am the proud (very proud) mom of twins, and when not spending time with my family or animals, you can find me cooking, baking, taking barre, or belting out any and all showtunes at the theatre! I can't wait to meet you!
