Brittany Egbert
Brittany Egbert, owner of Pure Barre North Hollywood, California, grew up in Texas where she played volleyball, softball, track, and competitive cheerleading. Graduating from UC Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama; emphasis in physical theater, Brittany found Pure Barre to be an excellent supplement for the physical regimen she was accustomed to through her theater training. Studying movement techniques such as mime, clowning, aikido, and contact improvisation all give her a unique perspective on harnessing internal energy and targeted muscle groups. She was a charter member of the Counter-Balance Theater Ensemble whose mission is to construct physical theater based on great literature. After teaching acting and movement workshops to college students across the country, she found a passion in teaching and empowering others to learn about the faculties of their own body. After moving to Los Angeles in 2012, Brittany began writing topline vocals for electronic music producers. Her background in music combined with her knowledge of the physical body pair perfectly to create the class experience at Pure Barre. After teaching for nearly 13 years at over 60 Pure Barre studios across the US and Canada, Brittany’s love for the technique is tangible in every individual class.
