Emily Martin (she/her)
Hi, I’m Emily (she/her)! I grew up on the opposite side of the country in Athens, GA (home of
REM for you 80s/90s kids). But now I’m excited to call Seattle my new home. I have a
background in dance and playing music, so one of the things that first drew me to Pure Barre
was the fact that it’s such a music-driven class. I’ve always loved working out, but when I
started taking Pure Barre classes, I felt like I’d found my place. Pure Barre tuned me into the
mental health benefits possible from a great workout. When I needed a break from the stresses
of life and was looking for a positive environment, Pure Barre was it for me. I knew I wanted to
be a part of that kind of community and be that energy for others, which is why I decided to
become a Pure Barre teacher. When I’m not teaching, you can find me reading, writing, taking
pictures of my cats, and/or dancing. One of my favorite things about being a Pure Barre
instructor is watching clients get stronger and more confident the more they come to class. My
goal as an instructor is to create a welcoming space and help facilitate each client’s individual
goals—and if those goals vary from day to day, that’s great!
