Michelle first found Pure Barre in 2016 during her junior year of college and fell in love after her first class! Since then, she had the goal of becoming a teacher and in September 2019, her goal became her reality! She quickly became certified to teach our other class formats, including Empower, Reform and Align. She loves teaching Empower because of the faster pace and loves seeing clients push themselves, especially when choosing to take it double time! Reform is her personal favorite because the resistance challenges your muscles like no other and leaves you feeling so strong afterwards. She spends most of her time at work and outside of work thinking about...food! Michelle is a social media specialist for a food brand, so yes, she does get paid to scroll through TikTok and make them! She also loves cooking in her own kitchen as well as trying all the amazing restaurants Chicago has to offer. She is also an art and history buff, and loves spending an afternoon wandering through local museums.
“I've lived in three different cities in the past five years, but during that time I've always been a member of a Pure Barre studio. No matter where I go, I know I'll have an automatic connection to a strong, supportive and welcoming community. I had a tough time adjusting to post-grad life - my first job took a toll on my mental health and I was also struggling with an unhealthy body image. I first began a more serious workout routine for the physical benefits, but ended up gaining so much more. Pure Barre gives me 50 minutes of me-time to enjoy mindful movement, and I've become physically and mentally stronger because of it. I love being a teacher because it allows me to connect with others along their fitness journey and help them become the strongest versions of themselves, just like all my previous teachers did for me.”
