Laurie
Where are you from?
I'm originally from Wichita, KS, but I’ve lived in Oklahoma, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and now Pennsylvania!
How long have you been teaching Pure Barre and what formats do you teach?
I’ve been teaching for over a year and a half, and I currently teach Classic and Define.
What’s your favorite move to teach and why?
Planks, all of them! Forearm, straight arm, side... I love that they challenge your entire body. They’re also such a great place to push clients mentally, and I love layering in motivational cues to help them power through. There’s something so rewarding about hitting that 90-second plank during warm-up together.
How do you stay motivated to show up and give your best?
Group fitness has been a part of my life for over 15 years. I started with yoga and Pilates, but Pure Barre is the one method where I’ve seen the most physical change in myself. That’s what keeps me coming back and honestly, nailing that 90-second plank is a huge motivator too!
What do you love most about the Pure Barre community?
It’s the people. Beyond the workout, it’s the clients who make this place so special. I’ve met so many incredible individuals through Pure Barre, and I’ve seen firsthand how everyone steps up to support one another, no matter how big or small the need. There’s no competition here. We’re truly in it together.
